Fall drama production, “Much Ado About Nothing” opens Oct. 23

posterAre you ready to go back to the 80’s? Put on your acid washed jeans and you checkerboard Vans and get ready for a “totally awesome” night at the theater. The Honors Drama class presents William Shakespeare’s classic comedy, Much Ado About Nothing on October 23 and 24 at 7pm in the McNair Theater.

In this modern retelling of Shakespeare’s classic comedy, its 1984 and everyone’s favorite New Wave band, “Jade’s Trick” is back from their tour of the USA. Young lovers Hero (the bands biggest fan) and Claudio (the drummer) are to be married in one week. To pass the time, they conspire with lead singer Don Pedro to set a “lover’s trap” for Benedick, an arrogant confirmed bachelor, and Beatrice, his favorite sparring partner. Meanwhile, Don Pedro’s resentful sister conspires to break up the wedding. In the end, though, it all turns out to be “much ado about nothing.”

The cast features, Hailey Bailey, Tiger Bartholamew, Margaret Boschini, Chris Broussard, Courtney Harris, Ellie Hertel, Ali Kaitcer, Nathanael King, Larkin Rich, Taylor O’Toole, Michelle Piper, Betsy Shelton, and Alex Wade.

Admission is free, but seating is limited. So, pop a Duran Duran cassette in the tape deck and book it over to the theatre. You’re sure to have a radical time. Fer sure!
