Last week, we had an unexpected 5 days off from school. Why? Because ice completely covered the city of Fort Worth. Two or more inches of ice covered every surface everywhere I looked when I woke up Friday morning. The weather channel had been warning us about this storm, but none of us were prepared for it to this extent! Because of the ice, the city was completely shut down for the weekend. Highways were closed, no one was on the roads, and very few businesses and restaurants were open. I spent the first 4 days in bed, in the same clothes, doing absolutely nothing. It was great! I got ahead on a lot of my work however, which is already helping me out this week before midterms. I will admit, I did go out sledding one day in our neighborhood, which has plenty of hills to choose from. Overall, the ice was a God send– much needed. I didn’t even feel like I was in Texas anymore… I must’ve been in Colorado or something. Or maybe it was just a dream…
