For most Saints, the last four-day weekend was all about relaxing and having some extra time to hang out with friends or maybe catch up on some homework. But some Saints spent the weekend competing in the winter SPC tournament.
All Saints’ Swimming, Wrestling, and Women’s Basketball teams all qualified to compete in the SPC Winter Tournament.
Women’s Basketball went as the 6th seed from the North Zone and played the 3rd seed from the south zone, but unfortunately lost their game.
Saints’ Varsity Swimming had six swimmers qualify for SPC: Colton Privitt ’17, Joseph O’Riordan ’17, Kaitlyn Klvac ’18, John Merritt Salinger ’18, Luke Boydstun ’19 and Claire Marcho ’19. With an impressive time of 58.94 seconds, Klvac won 4th place in the 100-yard freestyle and received 8th place for Girls 50-yard Freestyle at 26.79 seconds.
Saints’ Varsity Wresting also had great success this season ranking 3rd place overall as a team in both SPC and in Texas, which is the highest win in All Saints’ history. There were three wrestlers who won 1st place in their respective weight classes: Holden Fricks ’18, Caleb Silvia ’18, and Hunter Balk ’19. Grayson Mann ’18 won 2nd and Charles De La Rosa ’18 won 3rd. Carter Gloor ’19, and Garrett Hamilton ’20, Chase Parrish ’20 and Nick Thompson ’20 all won 4th place in their individual weight classes. The Wrestling Team will move on to Prep Nationals this week.
Overall, the Saints had a successful run in SPC and we are all very proud of our athletes.
