Weekly Blog From the Athletic Department

Winter is almost here. As the Fall Sports teams continue to prepare for the upcoming SPC Championships, one change is taking place that all teams can sense and feel: the weather. The Fall Sports Season is about to give way to the Winter Sports Season, and we were reminded of this on our trip last Friday, October 18th, to Oklahoma City.

The All Saints’ Football team traveled to play Oklahoma City Casady High School where they were greeted with temperatures dipping into the upper-30s and persistent rain that lingered throughout the first-half. On the adjacent field were two Field Hockey teams braving the same conditions and fighting through two halves, overtimes, and penalty strokes.

The All Saints’ Field Hockey team was forced to re-schedule matches last week due to heavy rains and fought hard through tough conditions against Fort Worth Country Day. Similarly, the All Saints’ Volleyball team came together for what the coach called their “gutsiest win of the season,” defeating Arlington Oakridge in five games in front of a noisy crowd at Oakridge. Both teams are showing the drive and determination needed for deep runs in the SPC Tournament.

Cross Country is continuing to train hard whether there’s sun, rain, warm temperatures or cold, and the improvements being made are noticeable to all. As the teams work towards the end of their respective seasons, there will be plenty of opportunities to see them in action. Football will host a playoff game on November 2nd, while All Saints’ will host both Field Hockey and Volleyball SPC Tournament play. Be Early, Be Loud, Stay Late, and stay warm as you come support the Saints in their remaining games and in the SPC Championship Tournament.
