As the teams progress through their schedules and continue with Conference play, let’s take a look at results from last week and preview the upcoming All Saints’ athletic events:
The All Saints’ Varsity Cross Country team is nearing the end of it’s season with only three meets left: the Brock High School Invitational, SPC North Zone Meet in Dallas, Texas, and the SPC Championship Meet, also in Dallas, Texas. Cross Country student-athletes have been extremely committed to their new coach, Tammy Reeves, and their new practice regimen. The hard work has paid off and it’s been obvious, with multiple students setting new Personal Records and the team finishing well enough to win entire meets. Their next meet, Wednesday, October 8, at the Brock High School Invitational will serve as a final tune-up prior to the SPC meets in Dallas.
The Varsity Field Hockey team is putting in tremendous showings in SPC Conference play, taking multiple top teams to overtime and winning a lot of close games. With a Senior-heavy team, the leadership is strong the team is primed to make a deep run in the SPC Tournament in November. Upcoming games include: Thursday, October 9, at Arlington Oakridge followed by a big game against SPC Field Hockey power Casady High School from Oklahoma City on Friday, October 17. We encourage everyone to attend and show support for the Field Hockey team as they continue their push towards SPC Tournament play.
The All Saints’ Varsity Volleyball team continues to win in style, emerging victorious in prior matches with 3-0 sweeps. They are undefeated in Conference play but the competition will be stiffer as they approach the end of regular-season play. Their upcoming matches include: Tuesday, October 7, against HSAA here at All Saints’ at 6:30pm, then again at Arlington Oakridge on Thursday, October 9, at 5:30pm.
The Varsity Football team is focused on its goal of winning a third consecutive SPC Championship. Being 4-0 in SPC, the team has already locked in a playoff bid for post-season play. They have two upcoming home games over the next two weeks beginning with this Friday, October 10, against Arlington Oakridge at 7:00pm at All Saints’ McNair Stadium. The following week, the team welcomes Casady High School from Oklahoma City for Homecoming. Kick-off is set for 7:00pm.
As always, on behalf of the Athletic Department, we thank everyone for their continued support of all student-athletes and the teams that represent our School. Despite increasing workloads, we encourage everyone to take advantage of an opportunity to come out and watch the various sports teams, as the hard work that has been put in to each respective sport by our students is noticeable and evident, and the teams are playing well while in pursuit of their season-goal of winning an SPC Championship.
In addition, we’d like to remind everyone that next week is Homecoming Week. Be Early. Be Loud. Stay Late. Go Saints!
